This week we started dipping the wax tree into the plaster, waiting for it to dry and then firing it in the kiln.
The first step was to apply a coat of alcohol paint to the wax tree, after which a sturdy bucket was made and the plaster mixture combined with twine was glued to the outside to keep it in place. Finally add plaster and sand and ceramic recycled powder 1:1:1 with water to fill the bucket. Need end over wax tree height.
Today is really a tired day.
Today in the studio I saw a new instrument for pressing plastic models.
It works by putting matching plastic pieces on top and a high temperature lamp bakes the plastic pieces, causing them to soften. Afterwards it is pressed onto the mould and a plastic mould is formed.
